First up we have the winner for one of the earliest awards of the night, Best Pop solo performance… And if you’re surprised that he beat out people like Taylor Swift and Sam Smith, don’t worry he felt the same way
Our next big highlight involves the night’s biggest winner – UK phenomenon Sam Smith starting out by taking home the coveted Best New Artist Award at the top of the show, and he continued to clean up throughout the night winning awards for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Vocal
“I just wanna say that before I made this record I was doing everything to try and get my music heard. I tried to lose weight and I was making awful music, and it was only until I start to be myself that the music started to flow and people started to listen”
“I wanna thank the man who this record is about who I fell in love with last year. Thank you so much for breaking my heart cause you got me 4 Grammys!”
Beyonce also had some precious moments. There was of course her performance where the entire world stood still for a moment.
But then there is also this perfectly genuine moment when she accepted the award for Best R&B Performance.
“I love ya’ll. I like to thank my beloved my husband I love you deep. My
daughter who’s watching, Blue, I love you, and I like to say thank you to my behive. Thank you God.
Nikki and our girl Miley join forces to present one of the nights most epic performers, the one and only Madonna.
“How did she do it? We’ll tell you how! She does it all by living for love”
“Alright so let’s all show some love and give it up for our B*TCH Madonna!”
Okay, so maybe not the classiest way two introduce one of the world’s biggest pop stars of all time, but, you do you, Miley.
Another favourite moment of the night, was Kanye showing that he actually had a soul, so the Kardashians must be getting to him. He performed twice, take a photo with Taylor Swift and then pretended to pull a Kanye when Beck won.
And now for the hands down at most entertaining portion of the entire show was Sia’s performance of chandelier, featuring none other than Kristen Wig.
And with that we wrap our fav moments from the 57th Annual Grammy Awards.
So I gotta know, what was your favorite moment from the show?
Let us know in the comments section below!
– Neil Patrick harris came out in his underwear… hehe
– Ryan Seacrest had a beard
-Dakota Johnson and Melanie Griffith together on the red carpet. A reporter asked if Melanie would see 50 Shades of Grey, she said no, and Dakota was like “Jesus mom, go see my movie” or something like that 🙂
– JK Simmons won best supporting actor! WOO!
– Patty Arket won for best supporting actress for Boyhood. She made a speech about women needing equal pay, and Meryl Streep and JLO were like YEAHHH!!!!!
-Birdman won best directing and best screenplay!
– Lock box prediction was… kind of funny. whatever.
FINALLY LADY GAGA! I’m so happy I actually stayed up to watch the end, It was hard. She performed a Sound Of Music medley tribute. She was so good. I love the change in direction that Lady Gaga has taken!
So there are a lot of situations in the TV show Friends, that cannot possibly be true to life. Things like, how they pay rent, or how they always manage to have breakfast every day, and much much more. But, someone figured out how much money Joey owes Chandler, and you would not believe it.
On Reddit, someone asked: How much did joey owe him, exactly?
And redditor ASmileThatKills accepted the challenge.
“He says that there were 2 sets of head shots, each at $500. So there’s $1000. Let’s assume that the acting lessons, dancing lessons, and voice coach sessions were all $1000 on average. So now we’re at $4000.
He then says 3 years worth of rent, utilities, and food. They live in Manhattan in a nice area of The Village, in a 2 bedroom, 1 bath, apartment on one of the upper levels. That is a very expensive location to live in; today an apartment like that would cost around $5000 a month easily, using Zillow.com as a guide (and I’m low balling it assuming they got a good deal). Using an online dollar appreciation site, and using the year 1997, i found that $5000 would translate too about $3500 (*Edit: which after researching was actually their monthly rent that was actually mentioned in the show, so spot on) for them. The rent was supposed to be split 2 ways, so this is 3 years of chandler paying Joey’s $1250. So $45,000 in rent alone. Now we’re at $49,000.
[Ed. note: $3,500 split in half should actually be $1,750, so we’ll add in the difference.]
Now for utilities, bills, food. We can guess the utilities may have been $1000 a year so lets add another $1500 for the 3 years of joeys half. So $50,500.
We know they had a phone and cable. Using today’s basic phone and cable TV prices, lets say that would be $100 a month (no cell phones/data remember) counting inflating for 1997 would be around $70 a month; so Joey’s half over 3 years would have been $1260. So now we’re at $51,760.”
So we’re at over $50,000 so far. And dont forget about food…….
“Now for food, this is huge. Joey is known to be a huge eater, and add that to the fact that the group goes out to eat constantly; while watching the show you see that not only does chandler cover him every time they get coffee/dinner, he also gives joey money for him to go on all of the dates he constantly goes on; as well as chandler buys all the groceries (Which would be a lot). I can only guess the amounts but lets say $100 a week on groceries+$100 a week on pizza/takeout/coffee+ $50 a week for Joey’s dates, every week for 3 years (which i’ll say counts as 1997 value). So $39,000.
… Chandler basically funded the living expenses of a full grown man for 3 years in one of the most expensive parts of Manhattan, so it was pretty costly to him.”
That brings us to $108,760… BUT that doesn’t include the time chandler spent replacing all the furniture stolen from their apartment, which is an estimated $5,500…..
So in total – obviously a rough estimate, we have come to $114,260.
Thank you friendly redditor!
